Pierre Erasmus

Pierre started hunting at an early age in the far northern Transvaal on a ranch his family owned on the Limpopo pierreriver. He shot his first Impala at the age of nine and accompanied his farther and uncles on regular hunting trips to Botswana where dangerous game was hunted.

After the army days Pierre studied and qualified as a nature conservationist where after he took a post with Free State conservation. He worked on many reserves where he gained a vast knowledge in wild-life management. After he was promoted to head office he became involved with the professional hunting industry on a full-time basis as the official in charge of all hunting matters. Pierre guided foreign clients and cabinet ministers on the reserves where he worked. He was also the person in charge of the harvesting / culling team of the Free State Province Nature conservation department. Pierre Erasmus

Pierre resigned from conservation and relocated to the Lowveld where he became a full-time professional hunter and manager of private reserves where the BIG 5 roams free. Apart from hunting the BIG 5 with clients regularly, problem animals such as Lion, Buffalo and Leopard was in many cases part of Pierre`s daily routine.

Pierre`s vast experience in the hunting industry was acknowledged when he was approved by the South African Professional Hunters Association / Committee to become the director of a professional hunting school where apprentice professional hunters are trained in the fine art of hunting.

Pierre is a qualified master measurer for SCI (Safari Club International) as well as a member of Phasa (Professional Hunting Association of South Africa)

Other professional hunters

When hunting in groups of more than two people the services of other professional hunters are acquired to assist Pierre in the important task of escorting our clients. Conservation laws prescribe a maximum of two hunters per professional hunter. Professional hunters employed for this important task are all trained by Pierre and any client can expect the same quality professional hunter as Pierre himself, thus we assure you of the best in the industry.
